PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE
The American Liver Foundation’s (ALF) mission is to facilitate, advocate, and promote education, support and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease. ALF’s programmatic efforts through its education, support, and outreach programs, research awards programs, and advocacy initiatives help further its mission.
The Helpline Coordinator is a key member of the Programs Department and provides support and education to people with liver disease, their family members, friends, and caregivers, the general public and health care and social service professionals. The Helpline Coordinator responds to all requests for information, support and local resources, particularly to information, resources and support related to Hepatitis C.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Related Skills or Knowledge
Self-starter and highly motivated. Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and organizational skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Education
A Bachelor’s in Social Work or related field. Master’s in Social Work preferred.
