New York, NY – October 6, 2011 --The American Liver Foundation joins the world in mourning the death of Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs was an innovator, visionary and liver transplant recipient. As part of his treatment for pancreatic cancer Jobs received a liver transplant in 2009. During the two years since the transplant, he was able to continue to make changes in the way the world communicates through the introduction of the IPAD and other remarkable technological devices.
American Liver Foundation Chair, Donna Cryer said, “Steve Jobs exemplifies the power of transplantation to allow people to continue to give back to the world. “ Ms. Cryer is a liver transplant survivor of 17 years.
