We are thrilled to announce that Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Gregg Allman, national spokesperson for the Tune In to Hep C campaign, and the Allman Brothers Band have been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 54th Annual GRAMMY® Awards on February 12.

It’s remarkable that Gregg has accomplished so much this year, especially given that only a year and a half ago, he underwent a liver transplant as a result of complications from chronic hepatitis C.
Gregg partnered with the American Liver Foundation and Merck back in June of last year when we launched the Tune In to Hep C campaign. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to bring attention to this silent disease. He continues to use his voice to help others learn more about the disease — and the importance of taking action by talking to their healthcare providers about their options.
We want to congratulate Gregg on these remarkable achievements and to thank him for his continued commitment to this important campaign. Once again, he’s shown us that in the face of adversity, doing nothing is not an option. He has also shown us that it is possible to rise above and continue doing what you love.
We are also pleased to share the attached advertisement that we placed in the annual GRAMMY souvenir book. For the first time in the history of the GRAMMY organization, the souvenir book will be sold in major retail chains including Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Target, Books-A-Million, HMS Host airport stores, as well as in the GRAMMY Awards online store and at the GRAMMY Museum (at L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles) and other official GRAMMY retail outlets and websites. All 12 GRAMMY Recording Academy local chapters representing major metropolitan markets will also feature the book at regional events and programs. This is an exciting opportunity to provide added exposure for the campaign and awareness of chronic hepatitis C infection.
