The 2013 ALF-Greater New Division’s 13th Annual Honors Gala was a Great Success!
The gala was held at New York’s historical Gotham Hall on Thursday, September 26th, 2013 to honor our three recipients: Jean C. Emond, MD, the Thomas S. Zimmer Professor of Surgery at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Vice Chair and Director of Transplantation at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center; Thomas Farley, MD,MPH, the Commissioner of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, one of the world's oldest and largest public health agencies and Thomas F. Nealon III, National ALF Board Chair for his outstanding volunteer commitment to the American Liver Foundation. This phenomenal night was hosted by Emmy Award-Winning journalist Shiba Russell, WNBC co-anchor and a special performance by Grammy Award Winning Artist Jon Secada.
Thanks to all our sponsors, we have raised more than $320,000 that will support research and promote educational awareness for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease.
