The American Liver Foundation Greater New York Division held its annual Honors Gala on September 30th at the gorgeous Cipriani’s on 42nd Street in New York City. The evening began by honoring the following three individuals, who have presented Faces of Hope in the fight against liver disease:

Flavors of Fairfield and Westchester Counties Culinary Gala

The American Liver Foundation’s Connecticut and Greater New York Chapters joined forces for the first time and hosted a Flavors of Fairfield and Westchester Counties Culinary Gala! The event was held on Tuesday, November 18th at the newly-renovated Stamford Holiday Inn. Incredibly-talented chefs from a variety of amazing local restaurants cooked table-side for guests at the Gala. The event raised more than $35,000, much-needed funds that will be earmarked for research as well as education and advocacy programs. Thank you to all those who attended! The event was a delicious success!

2008 Flavors of New York Culinary Gala

On September 25th, the Pierre Hotel Ballroom was filled with Liver Foundation supporters and honored guests for its 8th annual Flavors Gala. Dr. Henry Bodenheimer was recognized with the Physician of the Year Award and Jay Lefkowitz received our Spirit of New York Award. Culinary Chair Jimmy Bradley, and his team of chefs, prepared a scrumptious four-course meal. Flavors, our signature fundraising event raised funds for vital liver research and to support the ongoing programs of our chapter.

New York City Liver Walk 2008!

On June 8th our NYC Liver Walk raised more than $90,000. It was a hot and humid day but our walker's didn't let the weather spoil all the fun!

TREATMENT CHOICE INITIATIVES (TCI) PROGRAM

The new TCI Program is designed to address the needs of HCV positive individuals by providing them with the information they need to make informed choices about whether or not to pursue treatment as well as educate at-risk populations about HCV.
