TREATMENT CHOICE INITIATIVES (TCI) PROGRAM

The new TCI Program is designed to address the needs of HCV positive individuals by providing them with the information they need to make informed choices about whether or not to pursue treatment as well as educate at-risk populations about HCV.

HCV SPEAKERS BUREAU – LONG ISLAND
ALF is looking for individuals or family members who have been affected by HCV, or a health or social service provider or other person with knowledge of hepatitis C and HCV treatment. The Greater New York Chapter will select qualified applicants who will receive training and then become ambassadors of ALF, conducting education programs about hepatitis C, HCV treatment and liver wellness at various community organizations in Nassau and Suffolk counties.


HCV BUDDY PROGRAM – NEW YORK CITY
ALF is looking for both MENTOR BUDDIES – Individuals who have successfully completed HCV treatment

AND

BUDDY PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS – HCV-positive people who are beginning treatment or considering treatment.

The HCV Buddy Program will pair volunteer Mentor Buddies with Buddy Program Participants.

If you qualify to become a MENTOR BUDDY, you will be trained to motivate and encourage your BUDDY PROGRAM PARTICIPANT to explore treatment options with their healthcare provider, provide HCV information, offer tips on healthy lifestyle choices as well as provide emotional support. As a Buddy Program Participant, you will not have to go through your treatment alone. This program will be implemented in the five boroughs of New York City.
