The American Liver Foundation Greater New York Division held its annual Honors Gala on September 30th at the gorgeous Cipriani’s on 42nd Street in New York City. The evening began by honoring the following three individuals, who have presented Faces of Hope in the fight against liver disease:
Jeff Mann, president of Mann Publications received the Spirit of New York Award.
Dr. Hillel Tobias, Medical Director of New York University’s Liver Transplant Service received the Physician of the Year Award.
The Liver Champion of the Year award category was premiered at the gala. The inaugural recipient was Susan Kerr. In January, Mrs. Kerr donated a portion of her liver to her critically ill husband, Michael for his liver transplant. Both are doing amazingly well!
The Gala, which raised more than $450,000 in funds earmarked towards fulfilling ALF’s mission, was hosted by John Elliot, meteorologist on “CBS 2 News This Morning and “CBS News at Noon. Below are some of the exciting photos that were taken throughout the evening.
