Liver Buddies Patient Mentoring Program Grows

Liver Buddies enters its second year of operation.

The Hawai'i Chapter's Liver Buddies program, the only one-to-one mentoring program for liver patients in the Islands, enters its second year of operation in May. A refresher session for mentors held in April featured a local bereavement counselor to provide insights on grieving.

A training and orientation session for new mentors was held in May during Hepatitis Awareness Month. The program now has about 25 trained mentors ready to help other patients and their families.
