Acclaimed Grammy Award-winning artist, Tony Bennett, will be the headline entertainment at the American Liver Foundation’s annual gala, to be held Saturday, June 23, 2007, at the Chase Park Plaza’s Khorassan Room. This intimate performance will be limited to 1,000 guests. Opening for Tony Bennett will be one of St. Louis’ finest vocalists, Denise Thimes, an accomplished jazz artist.

In addition to the Tony Bennett performance, St. Louis entrepreneur, Kim Tucci will serve as Honorary Chair of the event. Tucci is a St. Louis native and President of The Pasta House Co., which has more than 25 restaurants. Emcee's for the evening are KTVI FOX 2's morning anchors John Pertzborn and Randi Naughton.

“We are pleased and excited to be bringing Tony Bennett to St. Louis to support the American Liver Foundation,” said Katherine Auble, Executive Director of the Missouri/Kansas chapter of the American Liver Foundation. “Tony Bennett is one of the most extraordinary talents of our time, and we know he will help raise the awareness of liver disease and liver health in the St. Louis community.”

Bennett has sold over 50 million records world-wide and has platinum and gold albums to his credit. Bennett has also received 15 Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Bennett is a legend to the young and old alike. He performed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the 1993 MTV Video Awards ceremony, capturing the attention of the younger generation. He has also appeared on "MTV Unplugged,” which resulted in an "Album of the Year" award.

Tony Bennett is an artist who touches the souls of audiences. He's the singer's singer and has received high praise from his colleagues through the years, including Frank Sinatra who stated unequivocally, "Tony Bennett is the best singer in the business."

“We hope this exciting performance by Tony Bennett will raise approximately $500,000 for research and education for liver disease,” said Denice McKeown, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Missouri/Kansas chapter and Government Affairs Manager at Ameristar Casinos-St. Charles. “This event will help fund research grants such the 2007 grant to Dr. Alexander Weymann at Washington University School of Medicine.”

Tickets for the intimate performance with Tony Bennett will be $500 and will include VIP seating, a cocktail reception at 6:00 pm, followed by an elegant Italian-themed, 4-course meal, open bar and both performances. We have a limited number of tickets available for $250 which will include both performances and open bar, arrival time for this ticket is 8:30 pm after the dinner program has concluded.
