The Northern California & Nevada Division
The Northern California & Nevada Division is based in San Francisco and serves the Sacramento Area of northern California, as well as the state of Nevada. The division works to promote liver wellness and educational initiatives through targeted programs that reach the youth, patients, the general public and the professional community. The Division works to fundraise through special events, private contributions and foundations to support the promotion of liver wellness education and information and to additionally support our national research agenda. The Salute to Excellence Awards Gala is an annual black tie optional dinner and reception honoring those who have made an outstanding contribution to biotechnology and medical innovation. The event has been held annually for twelve years and to date has raised more than $3.7 million dollars. |
 | Liver LIFE Challenge Climb-Avalanche Gulch June 5th, 2010 Mt. Shasta: June 5-6. Avalanche Gulch. The Liver LIFE Challenge Climb is a pledged overnight endurance climb event. Climbers raise pledges through corporate and/or vendor contacts, friends and family members for the American Liver Foundation while promoting liver disease awareness. The program has raised more than $575,000 since its inception. |
 | Liver LIFE Challenge Open Bay Swim June 6th, 2010 San Francisco: June 6. The Liver LIFE Challenge Open Bay Swim is a pledged open water endurance 1.5 mile swim from the historic Alcatraz Island through the San Francisco Bay. This is the same swim that the Anglin Brothers and Frank Lee Morris successfully attemped in their escape from Alcatraz on the night of June, 12 1962. |
