The CDC released recommendations last August 2012 encoraging providers to test all patients born between 1945 and 1965. This training will help providers understand why these recommendations are so important and how to begin integrating HCV screening and treatment into their sites.

Learning Objectives: After attending this training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the screening procedure for Hepatitis C
  • Explain why it is important to integrate routine HCV screening as part of clinical practice for HIV-positive patients
  • Describe the current FDA approved Hepatitis C treatments
  • Describe 2 new treatments that will be available in the future
  • Describe 3 counseling messages to support liver health for people living with Hepaititis C
