February 2012 marks a globally important milestone for Hepatitis C research. Bill Remak, a close colleague, and former scientist, as well as a nationally recognized patient and research advocate (http://tinyurl.com/7c6j9cy), was kind enough to make the introductions. It has been my extreme honour to interview Dr. Michael Houghton today. Dr. Michael Houghton is the same virologist that first discovered the Hep C virus genome in the late 1980's, and today he is clearly excited. Bill Remak says, “This is the closest we've come so far to ending the scourge of the Hepatitis C virus.”
