Liv'r Aloha Council Mahalo Reception 2007

As a way to acknowledge the gifts of the Liv'r Aloha Council, the American Liver Foundation, Hawai'i Chapter hosted a special Mahalo Reception at the Honolulu Design Center's Cupola Theatre on Wednesday, September 19, 2007.

The event featured a powerful testimony by Trudy Ornellas, mother of Noa Ornellas, who was featured on ESPN because of his wish as an ill child to spend time with NBA superstar Dwayne Wade. His story gave hope to those who have liver disease who may be awaiting a liver transplant.

In addition, Liv'r Aloha Council Members and their guests enjoyed the smooth jazz sounds of Noel Okimoto, Hawaii's premier orchestral percussionist, vibisit, composer, and clinician.

Chef Jon Matsubara prepared a delectable array of pupus such as Chinese Roast Duck, Avocado Crispy Wonton with Li Hing Mui Sauce, and many more, culminating with his signature dessert at the pancake/malassadas action station.
