The Allegheny Division of the American Liver Foundation works to support the national mission of preventing, treating, and curing hepatitis and other liver diseases through research and education.
Led by a voluntary Board of Directors and Medical Advisory Committee, the Allegheny Division offers current information and support to individuals with liver disease and their families, friends, health care professionals, and the local community. Please contact our office and explore our Web site for additional information.
As the Division Vice President I have the distinct pleasure of working with the wonderful volunteers who make our division a success. Our support comes in many forms; from the amazing physicians, nurses and other allied healthcare professionals who assist us with education and mission delivery to patients and their families who enrich our division and keep us focused on why we are here.
I am calling you to action! Please join us in our fight against liver disease and our charge to educate the community about liver wellness. Help us to create awareness and support the patients who need our assistance.
It is easy to volunteer for the American Liver Foundation. All you need is a desire to be a part of a vibrant organization and to make an impact on the community you live in.
The Allegheny division of the American Liver Foundation builds bridges, connecting patients to health care providers and services; creates and conducts educational workshops and seminars; coordinates support groups; works with local media and community groups to increase awareness of liver wellness and liver disease; and meets with local, state, and federal policy makers to initiate positive change.
We also plan three outstanding special events throughout the year; the Liver Life Walk-Pittsburgh, Tribute to Excellence, and our signature culinary gala, Flavors of Pittsburgh.
We thank you for you interest by reading this letter and viewing our website. I encourage you to become a part of our activities.
In Health,
Suzanna Masartis
