The Allegheny Division's Tribute to Excellence event celebrated its inception in 2007 by honoring Dr. Thomas E. Starzl, the "Father of Transplantation" and naming an American Liver Foundation Research Grant in his name. Five individuas and/or organizations will be recognized for their dedication and commitment to the Allegheny Division of the American Liver Foundation.

This year the Allegheny Division will honor the following five people for their tireless dedication to the American Liver Foundation and the fight against liver disease.

George V. Mazariegos, MD, Chief, Pediatric Transplantation, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC
Paul J. Lebovitz, MD, Division Director, Gastroenterology, West Penn Allegheny Health System
Donato Coluccio, Executive Chef and owner of Donato's Fox Chapel
Karl Williams, MD, MPH, Allegheny County Medical Examiner
Richard Zelechowski, Western Pennsylvania PBC Support Group
