The Connecticut Division will be forming two new support groups. A Hepatitis C group which will be available to those with this condition and/or undergoing therapy for same and a Liver Disease group for those dealing with any type of liver disease. Kathryn Jack, MSN, FNP-BC, Associate Medical Advisory Chairman (AMAC) for the Division, will be serving as the main facilitator with other AMAC members assisting with the groups. The groups will be meeting at the Division office, 127 Washington Avenue, North Haven. The meeting schedule has not yet been determined. Hepatitis C in Treatment-Naive Subjects: A Comparison of Erythropoietin Use Versus Ribavirin Dose Reduction for the
Management of Anemia (Protocol No. P06086)
Summary: This is a randomized, multi-center, parallel-arm, open-label trial to compare two strategies for the
management of anemia (erythropoietin use versus RBV dose reduction) in subjects with previously untreated
CHC (genotype 1) who become anemic during therapy with boceprevir plus PEG2b/RBV, to be conducted in
conformance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Adult subjects infected with chronic HCV genotype 1 with no previous
treatment for CHC will be selected to participate in the trial.
