The American Liver Foundation Southeast Regional Division is proud to serve the states of Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina as well. We provide a wide variety of services top the community including support groups, liver wellness and Hep 101 education programs, a national helpline, exciting fundraising events, and many volunteer opportunities.
The Georgia Chapter was founded in 1997 and we have successfully served thousands of liver disease patients and their families. Georgia is home to the Atlanta Braves, Masters Tournament in Augusta, Home of the 1996 Olympics and home to thousands of people with liver disease. Here at the Georgia Chapter, we stress that a healthy liver is essential to a healthy life. Therefore, we are committed to promoting the importance of liver health while educating the community about liver disease. In 2009, the Gulf Coast Chapter was integrated into the Georgia Chapter to form the Southeast Regional Division.
I would like to welcome you to the Southeast Regional Division of the American Liver Foundation. We are proud to be part of the nation’s leading nonprofit organization promoting liver health and disease prevention through research, education, and advocacy for those affected by liver-related diseases, including hepatitis.
Liver disease cuts across many lines; ethnic, racial, and gender. It affects the young and old alike and we strive to serve all populations. The Southeast Regional Division is dedicated to our diverse communities. We offer a variety of services, from information regarding our wonderful support groups, providing free educational literature, to educational outreach programs such as our liver wellness series. Call us during regular business hours and you can be sure that your questions will be answered by a warm and caring person.
Please visit our site often to learn about fundraising and program events that we have planned for the months and year ahead, as well as ways to get involved. The Chapter’s goal is to serve the Georgia and Alabama area, and volunteers from these areas are always needed and welcome. Our outstanding record of achievement would not be possible without people from the community, like you, who complete us as an organization. If you are interested in volunteering, please call 404-633-9169 or e-mail us at georgia@liverfoundation.org
