Community Education Programs

The American Liver Foundation Heartland Division offers Community Education Programs.

Liver Wellness (Adult Education Program)

The Liver Wellness Program is an educational program produced by the American Liver Foundation as part of the Foundation’s campaign to increase the general public’s awareness of liver health and wellness in order to prevent the rise of liver disease. The Liver Wellness Program is a comprehensive educational program that offers information on identifying basic risk factors, action steps and other key strategies on maximizing your liver health and motivating others to do the same.

Love Your Liver (Youth Education Program)

Love Your Liver is an interactive liver wellness education program targeted to elementary and middle school students. The program educates students about the liver, and the actions they can take to maximize their liver health and prevent liver disease. The 30-minute elementary school program educates students about the liver, its functions, and ways to take care of it. Older elementary students also will learn about the causes of liver diseases and prevention steps. Students will actively participate in Love Your Liver age appropriate interactive activities. The 45-minute middle school program educates students about the liver, its functions, ways to take care of it, types of liver disease, liver disease risk factors, and prevention steps. Students will have opportunities to actively participate in Love Your Liver age appropriate interactive activities.

Teens to Twenties (Youth Education Program)

This program is intended for high school and college-aged students, to educate them for a better understanding of the liver and liver-related diseases. The program focuses on liver health and prevention, Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, risk factors and prevention of viral hepatitis, and more.
