A Message from Executive Director Kit Auble

Dear Members,

As our local chapter strives to help people affected by liver disease, we need your help! I invite you to get involved and help make a difference in the fight against liver disease. You and your family can volunteer throughout the year, become a member of American Liver Foundation, become a team captain in the annual liver walk, remember the organization in your will, give a gift of securities, and so much more.

The funds we raise are returned to our community through advocacy, education, and research programs. More than $987,500 has been awarded to local researchers; more than 4,000 people in our community have been screened for hepatitis C and/or vaccinated against hepatitis A & B. The local chapter serves more than 100,000 people annually and reaches millions more people in our community through media outreach. Our advocacy efforts become the voice of a community often underserved and overlooked in today’s crowded public health environment.

There are more than one million people affected by liver disease in our coverage area. Many of these people are unaware that they have liver disease because symptoms oftentimes do not occur until late in the progression of liver disease. Liver disease is poorly understood and poorly funded. With your help, we can make a difference.
