People of all ages and all walks of life team up to participate in the annual walk events. The purpose of these walk events is to raise money to provide a community forum for those who are affected, increase awareness of the seriousness of liver disease and the importance of liver health, fund the American Liver Foundation Mid-America Division's advocacy, research and education programs, and to improve the quality of life of those who are affected.

Flavors of St. Louis

A unique culinary experience that will delight the taste buds and honor those who have gone above and beyond to further the mission of the American Liver Foundation.

Education

One of several educational programs, the “Liver Updates” are patient education seminars designed to give patients with liver disease and their family members an opportunity to obtain cutting edge information on the latest treatments and research breakthroughs from some of the finest local and national leading liver specialists.

Screening Initiatives

National Organ Donor Awareness Week

Various activities include education about organ donation.

Veterans and Hepatitis C Task Force

This is an ongoing initiative to educate veterans about the risk of hepatitis C. Veterans are at increased risk of having been exposed to hepatitis C.

Support Groups

Advocacy

The Mid-America Division is working actively in conjunction with local, state and federal policymakers to advance medical research and public health education programs.
