About Our Chapter

Our chapter was founded in 1983 as the Northern Ohio Chapter, and in 2004 the service area was expanded to include the entire state of Ohio. The Ohio Chapter balances caring for people today with funding research to protect people tomorrow.

We provide education and outreach, along with support groups for liver disease patients and their families. Chapter activites are designed to raise awareness and provide information about liver transplantation and more than 100 different liver diseases including hepatitis, cirrhosis, primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC), and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC).

Message from the Executive Director

I would like to welcome you to the Ohio Chapter of the American Liver Foundation. We are proud to be part of the nation's leading nonprofit organization promoting liver health and disease prevention through research, education and advocacy for those affected by liver-related diseases.

Liver disease mirrors the Ohio population - it cuts across ethnic, racial and gender lines. The Ohio Chapter is dedicated to our diverse community, we offer a variety of services, from physician referrals to free educational literature, to educational programs such as our liver wellness series. Please do not hesitate to call our office if we can be of assistance.

Please visit our site often to learn about fundraising and program events that we have planned for the months and year ahead, as well as ways to get involved. We are proud to facilitate support groups that help those living with or affected by liver disease, and we encourage you to participate in one. The Chapter's goal is to serve the entire state of Ohio and volunteers from all over the state are always needed and welcome. Our outstanding record of achievement would not be possible without people from the community, like you, who complete us as an organization.
