The Pacific Northwest Division was chartered in 1998 by two physicians at University of Washington and a handful of liver patients. Today we provide a wide variety of services, including our Liver Update programs where patients can learn the latest information from experts in the field.
We also provide referrals to get you the help you need, whether it be a physician, support group, or social service agency. Twice a year we host the Flavors of Portland and the Flavors of Seattle to raise funds for liver disease research and education. We serve the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska and have reached out to thousands of liver disease patients and their families. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we are committed to educating the community about liver disease, helping one patient at a time, and raising money for a cure.
On behalf of the Pacific Northwest Division Board of Directors, I welcome you to the American Liver Foundation. Our Board of Directors created a theme to help guide our activities. Our theme is: "Connect, inform, and advocate." Our daily goal is to connect with you, the patient. We want to reach out and be there for people who are touched by liver disease. Perhaps we can CONNECT you to a partner organization that can help solve a problem or refer you to a specialist. Our free programs are meant to INFORM you with the latest news and research on liver disease. We also ADVOCATE for you. There are more people than you think with liver disease. Through our efforts we can make a difference. We really appreciate your trust and confidence in our mission. Welcome.
Sincerely,
David de la Fuente
