Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Rocky Mountain Division of the American Liver Foundation. Our current volunteer opportunities are listed below and we invite you to contact us for more information! We also invite you to conact us if you have an idea about a special way that you would like to contribute to our organzation that is not listed below. Thank you - we look forward to working with you in the community!
Education Ambassador: Volunteers are asked to set-up and staff booths at public health fairs, provide literature and information as needed to support continued outreach and education throughout the state of Colorado. Volunteer may also speak on behalf of ALF when special presentations are requested from community organizations.
Volunteer Ambassador Team Leader: We are seeking volunteers who are looking for leadership opportunities. Ideally, we would love to find people who can take on leadership roles as the Volunteer Ambassador & Education Programs grow. These leadership volunteers will play an important role in the coordination of our education programs by conducting activities such as promoting the programs, scheduling presentations and providing support and training for our Volunteer Ambassadors.
Public Information Coordinator: Fulfill and track material and information requests from individuals, hospitals, schools, businesses, churches and other organizations for information and educational resources like brochures, posters, stickers and pins. Coordinate with the national helpline to determine the information needed by each source. Opportunity may involve visiting health care professional offices 1-2 times a month.
Public Relations: Volunteers will focus on the Division’s public relations, marketing, and communications efforts to increase awareness and advance the mission of the American Liver Foundation. Activities may include contacting local media, writing press releases, writing newsletter articles, event promotions, etc.
Office Assistant: Assist with data entry, filing, organizing, special mailings, answering phones, helping with meeting set-up/clean-up and other minor office duties as needed.
Volunteer Coordinator: Assist with volunteer coordination, which may include maintenance of volunteer records, development of volunteer recognition programs, outreach to potential volunteers, day-of event volunteer coordination, volunteer orientation, etc.
Volunteers can participate in one of our fundraising events: Flavors and the Liver Life Walk. Please visit our Events page for more information about each event!
Event Planning Committee: Committee members are needed for planning and improving our events each year. Event committees work to successfully plan all aspects of the event, including venue, pricing, timeline, auction procurement, event marketing, ticket sales, etc. Event Committees meet monthly starting several months prior to the event and then weekly starting 4 to 6 weeks prior to the event.
Day Of Event Volunteers: Volunteers are needed to help set up for the event, to register guests at the door, assist with the live and silent auctions, to serve as host/hostess during the event and for clean-up.
Internships: Internships are available for credit only and are geared toward students seeking experience in the areas of nonprofit management, marketing, public relations, volunteer management, program management or event planning. Students who wish to engage in a specific project to fulfil an academic requirement should contact the Rocky Mountain Division to design a work plan within the scope of the American Liver Foundation's mission.
