A Message From Lisa A. Haile, JD, PhD, Chapter Board President

Welcome to the San Diego Chapter of the American Liver Foundation. We are proud to serve this community by promoting liver health and disease prevention through research, education, and advocacy for those affected by liver-related diseases, including hepatitis.

Liver disease mirrors our region's population – it cuts across ethnic, racial, and gender lines. On a local level, the funding we receive throughout the year allows us to continue to support the community through a variety of means including the following:

• liver wellness educational programs;
• professional and patient liver updates throughout the year;
• informational packets for friends, family, and patients;
• support groups;
• research funding;
• referrals;
• advocacy efforts;
• and much more.

Since 1990, the San Diego Chapter has served the communities of San Diego County, Riverside County, and Imperial Valley on a daily basis by helping those touched by liver disease. Through the generous support of our community partners, we continue to challenge liver disease, an affliction that affects 1 in 10 Americans at some point during their lifetime.

The ALF is the nation's leading non-profit organization promoting liver health and disease prevention. The Foundation focuses on research, education, and advocacy on behalf of those touched by liver disease, including hepatitis.
