About Our Chapter

The Wisconsin Chapter was initially organized by a group of dedicated volunteers and became the Wisconsin Chapter in 1997.

The chapter opened its first office and hired an Executive Director January 2, 2000. Since its conception the Wisconsin Chapter has strived to educate the state on the more than 100 liver diseases that affect over 500,000 of our citizens. We continue to this day to support those affected, educate those who are at risk, and share information so more of our great Wisconsinites understand the true face of liver disease!

A Message from Our Board Chairman Charles D. Wickens

Charles Wickens

2008 promises to be a transformational year for the Wisconsin Chapter, American Liver Foundation. From the anticipation of the Flavors' events to the expanded education/support schedule, the Wisconsin Chapter is already kicking off a year that holds promise of expanding the knowledge of liver disease to everyone.

We are thankful for the limitless commitment from our program leadership team led by Dee Ann Girard and her staff. We are also grateful for the Board of Directors for their commitment to the prevention, treatment, and cure of hepatitis and other liver diseases through research, education, and advocacy. They show their tremendous benevolence through giving freely of their time and financial support. Additionally, we are grateful for the leadership and commitment of our Medical Advisory Committee. The Medical Advisory Committee is actively engaged in supporting the American Liver Foundation and provides navigational leadership in ensuring that our chapter provides the most impactful focus in research, education and advocacy.

The growth of the Wisconsin Chapter is due to its supporters and volunteers who give their time and funds to help us support those in the liver community.

Thank you!

Charles D. Wickens, Board Chairman, Wisconsin Chapter, American Liver Foundation
